
Preparing for Success: Lessons from Innovid and Beyond
Introduction Transitioning to a new role in ad tech after a significant hiatus in consumer research was daunting. This post explores how I prepared for my new position at 4C Insights by leveraging lessons from my past and diving deep into the world of AI-driven ad technology.
Leveraging Past Experiences At Innovid, I sold video ad-serving technology—essentially the plumbing that makes commercials appear on smart TVs and streaming devices. The product at 4C Insights was different, leveraging AI to predict the best future shows for airing commercials based on historical data. This was a new challenge that required a fresh approach.
Understanding AI Before joining 4C Insights, I had a lot to learn about AI. The data science team at 4C, led by Nobel Prize-winning Alok Chandroy, was ahead of the AI curve. Their models could predict with 99.9% accuracy which shows would deliver the best ad performance. To get up to speed, I immersed myself in AI concepts, asking questions and pulling on every thread of curiosity until I had a solid understanding.
The First Day The first day at 4C Insights felt like the first day of school. I was excited and ready to make an impression. I shadowed top sellers, asked questions, and introduced myself to everyone, determined to create a positive and approachable brand for myself.
